Been doing a little research about my new boat concerning fuel usage.
2005 McKee Craft 196 Marathon 150 yamaha 4 stroke

3100 rpm = 30mph @ 5 gallons per hour
5500 rpm = 51 mph @ 15 gallons per hour

Franco:

I just installed a NAVMAN 2100 fuel management system in my boat and I think it's BROKEN!

It says my old 235 burns 5 gallons and hour in neutral @ idle!

You got to love the numbers you posted.

You often cause the green eyed monsters to come to the surface there don't you. When such an extinguished man as yourself allows others to view the world you live in. No wonder you are called the Grand Puhbah, and I for one am proud to call you my close personal friend and confidant :-*

Hey I'm glad to hear someones getting their hull wet *;D period. on that 235 that's why they are called 2 Thirsty 5 lol. They burn more at Idle than most at WOT lol. Willy i'm mad i'm not in the friend line ??? Guess i'll cut his email line and only send to Franco lol. ;D I'd love to get the same as you Franco on that 248 Coastal, that would give me a range of 750 miles. Oh yes that would be wonderful.

Sorry to pi$$ of you guys, I get great mileage but it sure is wetter than a V20. Hey Fish, I asked my father, sorry, he's not interested right now!!

I've got a Navman 2100 and I'm still trying to setup the dang thing. *I relocated the probe to a more vertical installation and it said I burnt 27 gallons and I fill up and I can't get more than 15.5 gallons in the tank. *It's programmed for U.S. gallons. *I'm about ready to install a new tank sending unit with a gauge mounted on the tank fitting and replace the inspection lid with a clear plastic one and get my fuel reading at the tank. *Kamikazee, your's might be set in liters and not U.S. gallons. *There's three settings, Imperial gallons, liters and U.S. gallons. *Just a thought.

Seacrets, tell me more about the clear inspection port - fuel gauge reading at the top of the tank idea. I like the sound of that, a direct reading on top, especially if it is more of a physical reading (float) than electrical resistance.

I talked to a guy yesterday that is runnin a new 150 4 banger Yammie on a 21 Sea hunt CC. He is getting just over 6 MPG running about 32 MPH in average (1-2'ish) conditions.

YAH, now I am going have to catch him asleep and cut off his Nortans. :D
