I think my tank has a leak. I filled it up yesterday and the fuel vent is clogged and spilled gas back into the bilge. Well, on the way out I hit the bilge pump switch and she pumped out brown water. I smelled the discharge and it smelled of gasoline. I am thinking its in a weld toward the top of the tank because after a while the smell disapates. There is an odor of fuel from the reat lazerttes. Anyone know where I can get a cross poly tank for the 1987 V20? Dirk

It may be the hose connection at your fill, vent, or supply hose. Dont rule out the most simple fix first. ;)
I know someone who has a new 45 gallon plastic tank....cheap too. :D

DO NOT TURN THAT BILGE PUMP ON AGAIN UNTIL YOU HAVE THE FUEL LEAK FIXED!!!

Thought my tank was bad, but was simply the screws not tighten around the fuel float.

had the same situation, turned out to be the fill neck in the top of the tank. Where the steel reinforcing wire in the fill hose came in contact with the aluminum fill neck, it rotted. was able to fix with JB weld, 2 years, no problem (knock on starboard)
