ok it's not about the v-20, but I did put a newer prop on my tin boat. It's a 15' Duranautic semi-v 1966 vintage. It has a good little V, nice gunnel height and probably weighs only 250lbs. dry.Mounted on the transom is a 1985 35hp Evinrude that had a 10" diam. x 9 pitch...out of the hole like a slingshot. That prop had a little bend in it and topped out around 22mph. I wanted a little more speed so spun on a 13 pitch, 9" diam. standard Michigan wheel. It's still launches you out of the hole and now it goes about 30mph,wot [ with what seems to be a better/smoother range of cruising speeds]Thirty in that boat seems like what 60 would be in a V20. I'm very impressed how stable it still rides. I played w/ the trim adjustment, moving it out one more trim hole got it going a little faster, but it also was a little squirrelly and the prop broke loose in a slight turn so I put it back to where it was.Overall, an excellent 50.00 upgrade. I love that little boat ;D

The right prop can make or break the boat.

As I tried several different props when I repowered there was a WORLD of difference up or down one pitch ... :D ... now I'm considering a "stern-lifting" prop of the same pitch... :) ...

Great!!

I still have to get a hub for my other prop, different on OMC the Yamaha. I use a 2 piece prop.

Came with a nice SS prop 17 pitch I think, But I have never liked a 17 on my boat, the best all around prop for me is a 15 X 15 1/4.

Slinger...find out what MAX rpm is for your new sweetie according to BRP...your prop should allow the motor to turn that rpm at WOT...not that yer gonna run around at WOT, but that's the test ;) ...probably have to trim 'er way out to get it ;) ...and leave the top down ;D ...

Well I carry alot of weight, I am 320# and 2 others 200 each thats 520# Then I bring like 100#+ of Ice and then add all the gear and 200 to 500 pounds of fish on the way in, 65 gal gas 500#
So that prop pushes me right up on plain in seconds!! I lose like 5 mph on the top end, but 90% of the time you can't go full out any way!!

GPS says I do like 36 to 38 WOT, I use to hit 40 before, but Like I said I hate doing wot any way use to much fuel and wear on the motor.

I can curz 30 all day easy ;)
