Well guys it all started a little while back when some lowlives moved in next door to me. They got in trouble and went to jail for drugs for a few days. After that they came home. They were out for a month or so and then went back for snatchin purses at Walmart. They then returned for a brief period of time and went to jail FOR GOOD for a while on more severe drug charges. All this time…the grass isn’t cut…trash has accumulated in the driveway and the place stinks to high heaven. Well, about 6 weeks or so back his brother moves in and is no better than him. He “says” he is gonna take care of the place and hopes to straighten out his brother when he returns from jail. His words hold true long enough for him to get the power cut off because he owes AL Power over a grand. (How do you even get it that high before they cut it off for good anyways?) He stays away for a week or so and then I notice they are back... I also notice he has a meter back in the service, but there is no meter box cover. Having done electrical work for a while and knowing what I do about AL Power I KNOW they didn’t do that. The meter is obviously stolen. When I seen this I called AL Power and they came and waited on them for a few hours to return. They never did so they cut the feed at the pole and confiscated the stolen meter. No one has been there for a couple weeks except for the occasional car in the driveway late and the smell of weed in the air. Finally, I go cut the grass on Monday and pickup the trash because I just can’t take it anymore. I have riding mower and it was all I could do to get it down. The trash is full of maggots and flies and God only knows what else. (Yes, I wore latex gloves) That evening a guy comes by in a work van and I go over to meet him. He explains that he in the uncle of the brothers that are gone and in jail now. He says that he is watching over the place until the “brothers” mom and dad get into town. They live in Orlando and bought the house for them. (Big mistake) They are either gonna move in or sell it (thank you Lord). He says that NOONE is supposed to be there and to call him if they are. He also said that he came by the night before and chased some punk away that claimed to have permission from the former “tenants”. He told him not to return as he will call the sheriff. I explain to him my concerns as I have small children and this is a nice neighborhood. It pisses me off that people like that come in here and screw it up. He is in agreement and assures me that things will soon change when they get here. I somewhat believe him as he seems like a nice guy. He also actually HAS a job because he has a plumbing van. This is a major improvement over the former word I received from the unemployed dope head bums. I take his number and go. A little later the same night I see him and a sheriff back over there. Someone has broken the back door in and he files a report. My other neighbor enlightens the sheriff on the fact that he has seen someone in the wee hours going in there. The sheriff agrees to stop by on his rounds and check it out.

HERE IS THE PART THAT REALLY PISSES ME OFF

I return from the gym this morning to get changed and get to work. My neighbor comes out to let me know the sheriff arrested someone Tuesday morning over there at about 2 am. He also informs me that the punk has been plugging a cord into my house on the side and stealing power. He also shows me where he has tapped into my phone line and used my phone. I thank him and get to work. >:(

The more I think about it the madder I get. I am however thankful for the fact that I didn’t see it one morning while returning from my workout or I may have laid my religion down for a brief moment and wound up in jail. I do wish I would have had the privilege of hold a 12ga to his chin until the sheriff arrived though. >:(

I don’t have a long distance carrier so I am not worried about any charges on my phone line. I am ticked over the power as my bill was a little high last time. Oh well I just need to vent. Thanks for listening. ::)

Franco, I can get really creative for the right reason ;D

Thieves really piss me off!

Back when I had a Jeep Wrangler, I pondered the idea of putting razor blades under my radio so that when they tried to pull it out their DNA (and maybe even a fingertip or two) would be left all over the floorboard! Never did it though, but thought hard about it.

Ended up getting my stock radio stolen (didn't even have a CD player ha!) along with a boatload of CD's.

Used the insurance money to buy a nice CD player 8) and still had $ left over!

It's unfortunate, and they are simply scum.
Bad part is, it lingered for so long and you had to put up with the effects of their actions.

Other than call the cops, post the dog outside for them things that go bump in the night... you did the best you could.

Now if that was around my house, they'd of heard the bolt bein thrown forward on my Colt AR and a stern warning of what would happen to them if they came back around.. then I'd a been on the phone with the cops as well. For us out my way, we're pretty rual, so sometimes we have to hold our own till the cops get there. Once thieves and druggies find they have no sanctuary,, they move on to "easier" areas for them to feel safe to do whatever it is they do.

Things I use:

Dog
Lot's of auto-trip/motion sensor lights and bright too (two 150 watt floods per assy)
Keep all vehicles locked (including boat)
Dont leave garage door open all the time for them "drive by thieves"
Keep the yard maintained as best as possible to notice any tampering. Sneak around my house at night an watch 2 acres of yard light up and then I let the dog out. If the dog has an issue, I grab a weapon.

Sorry to hear you have sh!tty neighbors.... eventually they will go away.

I lined my Ralley Wheel Centers with razor blades and put wires on them so they couldn't steal them anymore. I got tired of loosing them off my Old Camaro. Well walked out of the mall one day and found couple of my centers hanging by the wires and blood all over the ground and in my ralley trim rings. Let's Say I got even lol. Bad to say but it felt good to see the blood. LOL

stinky, you sound like a guy who knows how to handle himself/ More often than not it's best to just call the police and let them deal w/ it. Cooler heads always prevail. Years ago if you roughed up some scumbag doing something illegal the cops would say thanks for the help...nowadays you'd probably be handcuffed next to him waiting to see the judge about your pending assault charge

yeah find out what outlet he was using and make the outlet 220 or use an old motor and make it 440 and make the metal outlet cover the neutral so it would be a hair raising experience.

Skool, if bloody fingerprints were left on your rims you could'a maybe have caught and procecuted the guy. I bet he's been fingerprinted before. I gotta give you credit for doing that. You might have changed that guys life for the good! Bet he thought twice before he did it again!
