Anybody here besides me follow the Iditarod? It is THE last great race. I've been addicted to it for years, and hope to volunteer for it someday (it is almost completely staffed by volunteers).

Jeff King has claimed his fourth victory -- Cheers, Jeff! This is the latest from the ADN site. If you love dogs, read down about his lead dog, Salem. It gave me goosebumps.

Definately a good story. My sister lives in AK an goes to the races every year. I've never been, but would also like to check it out one day. She was saying that this guy King was a bit off the trail, and if it weren't for his lead dog stopping the team, the other race members probably wouldn't have seen or found King and he surely would have died out there. It's definately not a lighthearted sport. Those guys have nads! 8)

It's not talked about much here in Florida, we shiver looking at snow on TV.

I have seen the start many times in and around Anchorage in person, but the real race is out on the trail.

Admittedly, I do not follow it from here.

I even raced dogs once myself. NOT endurance racing just a short sprint race, was very fun.

I remember, he was a race vet before he entered the race himself. We followed him closely here!
