When I was younger I used to be a bass fishing fanatic and did a lot of wet wade fishing in florida and I got to say these things are the real deal and are very un nerving to say the least as they are not afrade of anything and have a brain the size of a pea and tons of big teeth.. I saw a huge cotton mouth swim by me about as big around as my arm with a small muskrat in his mouth and right behind him and closing fast was a large gator which ate him with one gulp, stopped in front of me and cheeeeeeewwed him up then slowly swam on . I was waist deep casting a johnson silver minnow into some eel grass so I reeled in my lure , turned around and shi# my pants.....Frank

Took my 95 lb Lab on a duck hunt in N. Fla w/ my bro-in-law several years back...let him out of the truck, bro-in-law says, "put that dog up"...I says ,"why"...he says, "gator ate one like that yesterday of that dock over there"...I put my dog up

I HATE GATORS. Too many good dogs have been lost to them. When I duck hunt my dogs, I only go in cold weather and I am real close to them just in case.
Here, gator gator gator . . .

At the beach, I used to throw bumpers waaaaaay out for my dogs to retrieve. Now I am paranoid about sharks, and if the boys are swimming I'm right there next to them!

Cotton mouths are becoming a problem down here and they have bad attitudes. At night they cross the road to the frog marsh and they wont take off like other snakes, they hold their ground and come towards you. One of the neighbors had a BIG one curled up inside her golf cart battery box and would not come out. I had to take the batteries out and it would still not move out of the corner so I shot its head off with 44cal snake shot. They are very territorial according to the game warden...Frank

They are opening a gator season here and drawing for 50 permits. All of me and my fishing/hunting buds are hoping one of us gets one. They are getting thick on the Delta and such so they are starting this experimental draw to see how it goes. I hope they issue alot more permits next year. 8)
