So I am going down the highway the other day, and had this real jerk raceing around me, will I got pissed and decided he wasn't going to pass me!!
So we played this game for a few miles till we got to a stright away and he made his move. I slamed the gas and was keeping him at bay when all of the sudden my motor cut out at 99 mph!! :o
The guy went right by me >:(
So what happened?? Scared the crap out of me!! So I decided to get it back to speed again, I got to 99 mph and the egin cut out on me again??
Just stoped getting gas?? Slowed to 90 and had gas again??
So I went to the chevy site and asked whats the problem?? They say thats the speed set from the factory and if I want to go faster I will need to get a computer tune! >:(
What ever happened to the days when you go as fast as you can till the car had no more??
I was so ashamed when that guy passed me with a smile!!
So now I have to save for a computer tune!! This won't happen again!! :-[

I have a 02 Chevy Silvarado 1500, 4X4, Z71, Ext Cab short bed, 4.8 V8, with 3:73 gears, 2" lift with 3/4 ton springs and cranked T bars.
I know that I don't go 100 mph offten, but it just something eating at me when I know I can't!!

THE FEDS MAKE ALL THE MANUFACTURERS DO THAT, IT DEPENDS ON THE SPEED RATING OF THE TIRES AND TRUCK TIRES ARE RARELY RATED OVER 100MPH - REMEMBER THAT FIRESTONE THING A FEW YEARS AGO WHERE TRUCKS WERE FLIPPING OVER.

Ah thats your problem MJ. They know only certifyable people buy these so they put limiters on them. ;D

Has anyone besides me noticed the pervasiveness of sexual inuendo and outright ribald frivolity that is in every post recently.
I guess I'm not the only one not fishing :'(

UH OH, he pulled out his theasurase(?) on us. i think he called you a grouchy old pervert dude. but, i'm not sure. and MJ, sharing that tuner, to the best of my knowledge, wont work. the first thing that thing does when you plug it in is store your factory settings, including ur VIN. once it does that its pretty much for that truck only. they have laptop tuner systems that will work on many vehicles but, those things are in the thousands and most also require a piggy back cpu.sry

Racer, the previous linguistic exercise came off the cuff so to speak. And was directed not only to that most extinguished of gentlemen from the south but to all who have made merry lately. I love it ;D

Well MJ, it ain't no better on an 05 2500HD. Still goes to 99 mph but it don't cut out. It acts like it's on cruise control. Electrnic throttle. He!!, when you stomp it it don't go wide open, has torque management. They don't trust us to ourselves.

My car had a speed limiter set at 138mph and a rev limiter set at 6500rpm's. Thanks to new software it's now 6700rpm and no top speed limiter. I've only hit that top speed once, the night I got the car ;) The software usually remaps the fuel/air and you get a bump in ponies too.

Stinky assumed it was directed at him, but the intended target caught the play on words. And reponded accordingly as expected.
But Stink I still got a hug for you anyway.
And Franco, simply a product of too many rulers on the back of the head for mistakes from Sister Gilda or the anit-Christ herself Sister Mary Joseph during my formitive years at St, Bartholomew's ::)
