The Slaughter Beach, Del name story.

At slaughter beach, there is a large cove
and for some reason, every year the horseshoe crabs
gather in the cove and die off.
It is the largest area in the world where they come to every year.
I have been told that the smell at that time of the year is
unbelievably bad and it chases
people away from purchasing property there.
HAMMER, check it out, prices there are affordable.

In recent years, the H-crab population has been in decline,
so the stench is declining as well.

Parishht, I just something in the paper about the horseshoe crabs last week. Seems like they want to ban them for awhile to get more up them back. It have upset local fierman who catch them and use them for baiting eels and conk.

Here is the real reason for the name:

The community was named after William Slaughter, original postmaster

The other story is true as well, but not the name part.
