Here's the "wall" left after they dynamited the granite away to build the dam....little over 30' here, but almost 400' deep out in front of the dam ... beautiful clear water and white sand beaches...this is a REALLY neat place...Duke Power nuclear facility...makes payin' the power bill a little easier
;) ;D ...

I love fishin for smallmouth. Saltwater is my first love, but smallmouth fishin is a blast. Thinkin back to an old thread here, pound for pound a river smallie would be tough to beat.

Brother Willy... I used to DIVE from much higher than these guys were jumpin' off this same place ... it was LOTS of fun, but I'm pretty sure those days are over...

...but it'll be my pure pleasure to take you there just as soon as you get your crusty ol' a$$ down here ;) ;D ...

Is that little store still there on the right as you drive up from Hwy 11? It was right in a curve to the left.

Hoyet's, thats it. Used to stop there to get my outta state license.

I grew up in WNC and my dad would take me all over the place to fish. Fished most of the lakes in that area but Jocasee was always my favorite.

Sometimes we would come down the night before and stay at a little motel on Hwy 11, if I remember correctly the rooms were like finished storage sheds.
