I got it!!! I won the Ebay auction for this V-20 Sunday morning. Now I just have to get it from New Jersey to Northen CA but that looks like it won't be a big hairy deal. In the meantime I'll just keep staring at these pictures...

If he drives straight through with no stopping,
it can be done in 39 hours. (experience speaking)
If you do it the sensible way, three days.
Too bad you can't wait till July, I will be driving to Lake Tahoe for my sons wedding.

The decision on boat haulers will be made by tomorrow. The time frame for shipping it varies from outfit to outfit but it looks like 2-4 weeks. There WILL be pictures!
I talked to the owner by phone on Sunday. Kind of a sad story. He doesn't want to sell the boat but his wife is sick (didn't ask in what way) and life has generally taken a tough turn for their family. The guy who owned the boat before him did something horrible with the batteries that fried much of the electrical system. Fortunately, the guy I am buying it from is an electrician and has run all new wiring in addition to alot of other work. He was very proud of the electrical changes he had made so it sounds like it'll be quality work.
The little girl was not offered as an option. TunaHead has no children that he is aware of and is happy to keep it that way. He has two small nephews (3 and 5 years) that live next door but he gets to send them home when it's time for feeding and cleaning.

Tuna, just take yourself a little vacation, and go get her and check out the country on your way back. If I were you I would hit every lake on the way back ::)

Didn't think of rail shipping ???
CY the road trip is a great idea. The vacation time is already spoken for this year though with a fishing/diving trip to Baja on June with this outfit:

Tuna, where are you in Ca.?

parishht, I'm on the Northern Ca coast ~ 15 miles North of Eureka and Humboldt bay. We fish primarily out of Trinidad and Eureka with occasional dive trips to Mendicino/Fort Brag area for abalone (aka: seafood of the gods).

I was born and raised in the LA area and worked on an ambulance there for years. Then I escaped to the other end of the state. I'm about 90 miles south of Oregon now.
