Not sure what I am seeing there, he was abeam to the sea, he had power I could see the prop wash, was he testing whether the ship could be capsized or something.
Seemed like he could have turned her into the sea a lot quicker than he was. ???

The way those seas looked I doubt he had much control of direction regarless of power. :(

The waves were big but that size ship they should not have been a problem it was have other issues.

I agree, big seas for sure but if you watch they are linear wave lines coming from the same direction, he was taking a long time putting the bow into the sea and the boat was floundering to a 45 degree pitch because of it.
Normally the only time he would be beam too in such conditions is when he decides to make a turn to change course for some reason. Usually not done unless absolutely needed, very dangerous in such seas. At least that is my understanding.
