What kinda idiot rides across the desert on a horse with NO name? :-/

It really doesn't make sense to me because if I am going to trust a horse enough to get me across a desert then 1) he would be a well known enough horse that he would have a name or 2) I would get to know him for a long enough period of time that I would give him a name myself prior to such a demanding trip. ::)


Thoughts?

in the desert you can remember YOUR name.
the horse has a name, he just doesnt remember it.
nobody ever said "in the desert you can remember your horses name".

his name is "Poor Bastard" after the trip cause you will shoot him before you get across the desert and say Poor Bastard tried but couldn't make it lol.

He's gonna be a DEAD SOB by the time the trip's over, so why get close enough to name him?...you'll be dead too, so why does any of it matter?...


Besides...those lyrics were penned under the influence of what was probably some pretty good weed...I wouldn't spend too much time tryin' to make much sense of 'em ... ;) ...

Example: La da la da da da...la la la la da ... see what I mean...

If it's real good weed, it is likely he was on a camel and confused it with a real ugly horse. That stuff will mess you up good, then give you Dorito munchies.
