Mine is shooting out some RIDICULOUS rooster tails.

If it's rooster tailing in the yard then I would take the jack plate off. 8)

Rooster tails such as you have pictured above are quite common when operating outboard powered boats across the lawn ... try down thru the woods ;) ...

stink, seriously, my 17 Mitchell did the same thing after I put a plate on it, in turns it would blow out, I thought I had the motor too high, but after looking at it, I noticed the part that attached to the boat was dragging, I removed the plate and drilled holes 1" higher and remounted it, of course I had to lower the engine, what i found was the corners of the jack plate were too low on the boat, and they were dragging in the water while on plane, it got worse when you turned, it would actually scoop up water. you usually don't have this problem if it is mounted on a bass boat as there transoms are allready elevated a little. If you were just joking around, them I'lll have to mount some Coon Tails off my 35' outriggers to one up you

I actually did have the same problem you are describing during the initial stages of my jack plate dilema...but all is well now. ;)

will have to wait, I haven't touched my V in several weeks, been real busy working on everyone elses boat, but I have been gathering parts for my V, wait till I get time to post pictures, ya'll are going to be so jealous
