A lot of folks can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage
here in our country.
~~~
Well, there's a very simple answer.
~~~
Nobody bothered to check the oil.
~~~
We just didn't know we were getting low ~~~ The reason for that is
purely geographical.
~~~
Our OIL is located in
~~~
ALASKA
~~~
California
~~~
Coastal Florida
~~~
Coastal Louisiana
~~~
Kansas
~~~
Oklahoma
~~~
Pennsylvania
and
Texas
~~~
Our
DIPSTICKS
are located in
Washington , DC !!!!

...and they are both Democrats and Republicans

...any other questions??...

Don't forget coastal South Carolina. It's said that we have some significant deposits offshore. But most politicians here are promising that there will NOT be any offshore drilling. It seems that here in America we want it both ways, we want to use however much oil we want but not "pay" for it. While I don't relish the thought of offshore drilling rigs here, I do believe we have to take care of ourselves or we'll forever be beholden to the middle east.

No doubt we want it both ways...we shoulda sent a SEAL team in to cap Saddam, then invested the 400 BILLION we've pi$$ed down the tubes over there into alternative fuel solutions...we'd be MILES ahead of where we are now...which is NOWHERE ...

We are investing in alternative fuel sources. That's where Exxon is putting our money. So, when oil runs out THEY can sell us hydrogen . . . or whatever, and have the market cornered. :D

One plus side to offshore drilling rigs is fishing reefs and structures.
