Not shown is my 13' whaler that's in the back yahd. The admiral says I gots to pare down the fleet. Due to another deadbeat buyer the 19 footer is still for sale ($999).

I wonder if this guy is married?

BTW, there is a 3rd boat on the other side of the house that isn't in the pics. HEY, I just noticed we both have the same X-mas lights!

http://www.kci2.com/pix/yahd_aht/06.jpg

Not much flare, probably rides really wet.

How anal are you about your waterline? I gotta wonder if this was just a guess or really where she floated...

http://www.kci2.com/pix/yahd_aht/08.jpg

The sign says 20HP, maybe he meant 200?

Dunt, dunt, da.... Dunt, dunt, da, da....

QUICK, name that tune....

Hey there Mr. Ho... Hmmm that doesn't sound quite right... How 'bout TH for short?

I haven't seen that thing you are holding for years! Last time I saw one it was crawling into Chekov's ear in a Star Trek movie.

Seriously, what the heck is that and how do you cook it?

TunaHead,

Wouldn't you be TH? For some reason I can't bring myself to address you as Mr. Head.

Anyways, here is a bigger picture of the "Flea"

http://www.kci2.com/pix/yahd_aht/c.jpg

Seriously, what the heck is that and how do you cook it?

I tried to find a recipe...

http://www.kci2.com/pix/yahd_aht/d.jpg

If you like "tail meat" it should be good eatin' but if you prefer claws then you're SOL.

I finally sold the 19 footer to a couple of good guys who seem like they know what they are getting for the money. I couldn't believe the deadbeats, swindlers, tire kickers, dreamers and scumbags that the internet attracted. Above all here is an email I recieved from the guy who "won" it on ebay...

"Running into a problem with the wfey. She is very upset i bid on the boat without talking to her about it. Oops. She is willing to let me spend only 800.00. She spoke to my brother-in-law who informed her the boat is old and is not worth the money. I'm sure you know how wives are. let me know if this is something we are able to work out."

Fess up, which one of you is it? ;)

parishht

I have to wear one.

Anyway, is that flea from a nuclear power plant discharge area?

If Im not mistaken its a giant isopod. Closely related to the roly-poly or however you spell it. But, how did you catch it? I thought they lived in really really deep water.

TunaHead
06-06-2007, 03:45 PM
There is a type of parasitic isopod that I find inside the gill covers of various fish. They are pure white and get to be ~ 1" long. They look very much like miniature versions of the big fella there. Whats interesting is that their legs end in the same hooked tips. It makes them very difficult to remove. Makes me wonder what kind of surface it lives on cuz those feet weren't built for walking as much as clinging tightly to something.

That must be a rough neighborhood, someone stole the wheels off his boat trailer and left it on blocks.

WHAT IS THAT THING??????? :o

Tally Ho, you're Mr head comment reminded me of a story. There used to be a Doctor in this area by the name of Dr. Head. Unfortunately his first name is Richard...

He actually made it onto Letterman's show one time when he won a contest for the worst name... Dr. Dick Head.

I went to college with a guy named Richard Head, of course you know what we called him. We would have called him that even if his name was George Washington, he really lived up to his name.

Back to the sand flea if that is what it is. We dug a gallon bag of them at Long Beach NC and never got to fish with them to see if they were any good, most of them went 1 to 1 1/4".

Okay, time to come clean. That's not me and I don't know what that thing is. I found those pictures on the internet some time ago. I did do a little Photoshoping on the 'Cookbook" photo but I didn't fake the flea. Here is the original...

http://www.kci2.com/pix/bug1.jpg

I don't know if the photo are real or a fake but I'd like to find out myself.

My daughter has a salt water fish tank. I was searching the net for info on some of the little critters that lived in it and I came across these images but I could not find a related page for them. It seems like it would be an elaborate hoax to fake them so I tend to think they are real but I have never seen any other photos of such a creature.

This guy seemed to be a big hit...

http://www.kci2.com/pix/monkey.gif

but he got a little distorted when I imported him to the site to use as my avatar. Does anyone know how to do this without distortion?

When I was a kid, my grandfather would pay us a quarter for a sand flea (mole crab) that had molted and was still soft shell. We would wonder up and down the beach looking for one rolling in the surf, the soft shell ones cant dig.

It never failed, he would put on a softsehll sandflea and immediatly catch a big pompano.

They say that sheeps head like em too, as well as red and black drum.

Then later in life, my wife went to work at this place and they hired on a gal named Sharon D1ck.
