Went to Lake Clark Hill Wed...13lb and 15lb stripers, plus box full of 3-7lb Hybrid(man-made cross between striper and white bass...generally smaller than stripers, but pull like a mule and yeild great fillets) :D

Gonna try to go again this week...we were down to T-shirts by mid-afternoon last week :), but cold has moved back in(23 last nite, 30 today) so it'll be a different story probly til mid-march...luv it anyway :D...

Hybrids are GREAT table fare...hard to tell from striper meat ;D...It's a good cross of two different fish...not as long as a striper, but taller top to bottom and very thick...makes 'em strong fighters on the hook and tasty fillets on the plate ;)...

Thinkin' hard about goin' again tomorrow...somebody twist my arm...OK, that's enough...

Yes BS...the freshwater stripers and hybrids bite year 'round...slows a little in fall, generally shallow in winter and deep in hot weather...

Although they bite year 'round, sometimes they get lock-jaw for days or weeks and shut down, but outta the 3 lakes we fish, there's usually something happenin' somewhere :)...

Which 3 lakes do you fish? I've been wanting to drag my boat (and butt) down to Murray...but need to replace my trailer first. Also want to give Hartwell a try as I have friends down there.
Things are pretty steady up on Norman. We've quit the live bait and use only jigging spoons and bucktails! *;D

huh...in my original post, I wrote "jigging s p o o n s" without the spaces and the site changed it to "sthingys". :-/

Hey AJ...sometimes this site gets a mind of it's own...it has changed my wording from time to time ::)

The three lakes we fish are Murray, Hartwell and Clark Hill(Thurmond)...big kill @ Murray years back, it's comin' back strong, but still doesn't have the numbers of BIG fish that the other two have...Hartwell suffered a PCB spill many years back, so all I do there is go after the BIGUNS for fun...Clark Hill has BIG stripers and no comtamination ;)...it's an hour more to drag the boat than the other two...so they all got their ups and downs...luv'em all...boated a 15lbr at Clark Hill Fri along with several other nice 'uns ;D...

Oh yeah, AJ...we free-line live herring thru spring, then cut-bait 'em thru mid-summer...free-lining live herring in the winter is my Heaven ;D...gets a little slow sometimes, but when they hit, it's like a freight train went under the boat 8)...Oh Yeah!!!
