I left home for work at 1900, it was still 97 degrees.

"The weather is here. I wish you were beautiful."

Man, tsubaki I'm feeling it, too. I usually walk my dogs first thing. At 5 AM today the temp at my house was 85, before calculating the heat index. The dogs don't want to go far, and neither do I. Yesterday at 3 PM I saw the heat index near 120.

They say a weak "cold" front may come through the area Saturday, to bring temps more back to normal for August. (Normal high for today is 91.)

sounds like august in the deep south. just the way it is here. but, you dont get used to it. dont know what we hit today, but right now (5:30 pm) heat index is 111. and it has been raining out for the past 2 hours. and my slum lord still wont fix the ac in my house. been out all summer, and only 3 windows in this dump are large enough for window units.
yesterday evening i inflated one of those blow up pools for my 14 month old and filled it with water. when i got home about three today i knew the water would be warm enough for him to play by now. it had about 2 inches of water left in it! no holes, it just evaporated away in less than a full day! pool is 7 feet across and 15 inches deep. thank god for COLD beer.

Exactamundo. At 5 AM today it was 84 with a heat index of 104. Going to swim the dogs in the ocean early tomorrow and give them a chance to have some fun before the sun gets too high, then ice down a cooler of beer and sodas, go out and drop anchor and go swimming myself! Hope the jellyfish haven't got bad yet . . .

Just got back from Atlanta and entertained myself by watching the thermometer in the van.
Places hit 104 in Macon and Atlanta. When we went thru thunderstorms up there and back the temp literally dropped 20 degrees.

Amen brotha!! * ;D

I went out to Wassaw Island on tuesday. *The water was practically flat and with the haze you could barely make out Beach Hammock. It was hot as hell on the beach, but if ya walked up away from the water to where the vegetation started it was like opening up the oven door! *Spent most of the afternoon floating with the wifey on her raft! * *8)
