Hey Stink, great idea, here is my version of the plug. Tool Maker Style
I used a .250 X 3" CRES dowel pin. I set up my plug and drilled and reamed the hole to .249 to get a .0005 to the side press fit.

Then just for insurance I drilled and tapped a 1/4-20 hole from the inside and installed a CRES set screw.

LOL, I doubt me (or him) was the first to ever build one or sell it. His looks cleaner and more marketable anyways. ;)
