Come back Willy. Lefty is almost out of rehab...after drinking all of your stash. ;D

She drank my stash without me :-/ you are supposed to keep her in line Mike, your much too busy with those boats ;D

I have gotten on a couple of times the past couple of weeks to make sure you guys aren't talking bad about me. It is so slow for me that I am still having problems, especially if more than a couple of guys are on.

But I have been a busy boy, doing some job search stuff and interviews. But I also have been having some fun.

This is my buddy who has been teaching me how to sail the past two summers. His name is Gene Miller and he has forgotten more about sailing than I will ever know, he lives two doors down from me.

we entered his Raritan Yacht Clubs race this past saturday .We came in 5th in the cruiser division with just him and me handliing the boat. Not bad since the ones in front of us were two racer class boats and the other two had about 5-10 feet on us in length.

His boat, a Catalina 32. She is a sweet boat.

We had 25-30 knot winds the day of the race, very gusty. Made it very interesting to say the least. Summertime made 7.5 knots across Raritan Bay and pointed to wind well. At the end of the race we had 6 tacks in heavy gusts to cross the finish. We outsailed bigger boats with full crews. I was a tired boy.

Gets a little dicey especially in that heavy wind, here is a shot of a racer that just edged us out at the end

I can't believe you let that little p*ssy blue jay boat beat you out. Should've rammed him one good time ;D

Sailing is pretty cool and alot cheaper than running one of these outboards!

Nah Blue trust me it aint cheaper, just spending it differently thats all. It is fun though, I have always wanted a large sailboat or possibly a smaller trawler style boat to actually stay on the water for weekends etc. I love being there.
A friend of mine has an older Grand Banks that he weekends on all summer and fall, has it berthed on the Hudson river just north of the Tappan Zee Bridge. I love the sailing but your days out and where you can go are subject to the weather report. He has this Grand Banks and it is like a townhouse on the water, cruises at 12 knots, fairly shallow draft and it works great to fish from. His is a single screw diesel and he get between 2-3 gallons per hour cruise. So it is very economical to run out. You are no speed demon but very sea worthy and 10 knots gets you there fine. And if worse comes to worse weather wise you drop anchor put the ball game on the big screen pour a cocktail and give a super model a good spanking on the couch ;D

Yea Cy those are mine, the wife took the shots. Good kids I have been a very lucky man. Just now I got to figure how to pay for the colleges for them all. Wish me luck.

And Blue Man that boat is a racer, surfing hull very light weight, designed for one thing and one thing only, go fast on the water. But they were getting big time wet, there are no real facilities on the boat. Genes boat is a great weekender for a couple with all the amenities and is heavy and dry. And that boats rating is much lower than Genes cruiser yet he only beat us by about four minutes in the end. They did not have enough racers that had crews to have their own race earlier in the day so they put them in with the cruiser race. The race winner was a 30 something J Boat.

Cool Willy, yeah if I could afford a 40ft slip and a nice trawler AKA water condo I'd much rather have that than a real condo. I guess hurricane season would be a pain in the butt but oh well.

Good lookin younguns you got there Willy!
