Just picked up a free mid 80's 150 Merc. Motor was rebuilt a few years ago, lost spark and there it sat for the next few years. Electriacl parts were stolen off it as well.
Wanted to pull the lower unit, repaint, install new pump and prop and sell on E-Bay.
Anybody ever sell and ship a lower unit ??, pallet, or a crate to ship *??? Trying to save cash on shipping. Shipping company or UPS ??? ???

put it on the back of that city Harley and deliver it lol
hammer it going to depend on the weight, also the new one DHL seams to be cheaper, i would create it or box it with the low calorie peanuts( packing plugs) or just take it in one of the stores that packs and ships

Figure if I can sell the lower unit, tilt trim, the funds could go towards the V. With the holidays coming, I see a down fall in my cash flow. *:-/

Someone a while back asked the same thing.
My suggestion was to buy a panel of Styro-Foam type insulation (HomeDepot-Lowes) and line the insides of the box (what ever size needed) walls all the way around and cut other pieces to the shape of the foot to prevent movement. Add the costs to shipping and handling.
pearch has a point about DHL, they were cheaper and would handle heavy or bulky packages whereas UPS wouldn't touch them. Suggest checking with all the major carriers as to size, weight and cost. This year all of them have changed shipping restrictions.
We regularly use UPS, FedEX and DHL. It just depends on the situation.

There are enough boaters around you that you should be able to sell it "pick up only".
