The batteries on my piece of crap camera died before I could get a shot *>:(, but I caught my first fish for the season. Since I'm laid up until my bracket comes in, I took a few casts in the pond behind my house tonight. I caught a nice little chain pickerel. Healthy green and toothy - about 13 inches. He hit the popper I was using hard, jumped a couple times and was kind enough to fall off the Hula Popper as soon as I touched the lure, no stinky pickerel smell. The pond is full of the little chainies and (I'm no biologist) large mouth bass - nice size too. I like salt water fishing better than fresh, but I'd take bass and pickerel over flounder pretty much anytime! *;D

Next time I'll do better with the camera >:( >:( >:(

Man, catching pickeral brings back memories!!

I had 2 stripers, and a bunch of snapper blues last sunday. I was chumming with clam and baiting up with freash surf clam. I got to use my anchor/pulpit assy and it was great! I didnt bring my camera - it was raining in the morning.

This saturday is the opening day of Fluke season here in nj, so you know what I'llbe doing. ;D

I'm close to Bridgeport, two towns west in Westport. My office is just off Exit 17 on 95, right on the Saugatuck River. In fact I've caught striped bass from the docks behind my building (don't tell my boss).
