Well I started my new floor covers today!! They are replacing the 29 year old Teak covers!!
They were getting pretty tired and I had to fix them a few times.
They are now 3/4 Seaboard All I have to do now is drill the finger holes and router the edges.

I still have anough to do the other project I wanted to do!!
I have been wanting to change the walls on the left and right as you go into the cuddy. They are starting to peel the vinyl off and getting tired also for some time to come
but I think that will be a spring thing.

I still will be wanting to buy some 1/2 so I can make new tank covers also!!

The thing will be worth $10,000 just for the starboard when I am done!! ;D

It looks great. I had the teak hatches on my 1974 . They looked great when clean and a good coat of oil . They would always swell a little and it made them hard to lift . Will that new board need some kind of non-skid ?

MJ,

Where can I get some Seaboard? I would love to rebuild my cuddy door. The teak one is falling apart. I have some stainless steel clips and brads holding it together.
Thanks.

marioc11, this is a link to the place I purchased from and also brought macojoe to get his. They're located in Dorchester.

http://www.jfreeman.com/cpg_seaboard.html

They're also about the cheapest in the area that I've found anyways.

btw; still waiting for the guy on the canvas to get back to me.

I bought 3/4 for the floor as thats what needed for the weight that will be on them with all the walking and stuff.

The doors will most likely just need 1/4 to 1/2?? *which is cheaper!! $86 to $114. If you want they will cut it for you to size for extra 15%

But it is pretty easy to cut using your tools at home!! I cut mine with a skill saw and a jig saw. Just need to use a router on the edges and I will be all set.

Then I will start on the side walls when that is done.

But I had a small surgey this week that is going to keep me down for a week or so so it will have to wait *little longer.

I like to get all repairs and mod's done before i put the boat away for the winter!! This way I just uncover and go in the spring!!

labii I have been told that will be no need to put any non skid on it?? I will let you no if I slide on my a$$ :o though

Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, Macojoe and Chumbucket all great teams. Nice work guys! It looks great. Thanks for the before and after pictures. I looked at the national weather looks like Vermont and New Hampshire had snow. Will you get a chance to use the boat yet this season? Again nice job. Bill Mc ;D

No, thank you MJ. Really didn't take long since MJ had the pieces all cut to size. All I did was route the edges, and drill and route the finger holes. We spent more time BS'ing than actually working on it. Good day to get out for a drive though. The weather really hasn't been cooperating here lately. I think we're just watching it from day-to-day and we're just going to have to go on a spur of the moment. Can't wait for good weekened days this time of year here in the Northeast. Get out when ya can.
MJ has to get out the rake and clean all the leaves out of the boat before we go out.
Thanks again Bub.
