The final coat of paint is curing. I will bring her home tomorrow after a little cash exchange. Hammer I tried to get that sweet looking UPS girl to bring the bracket to ya but she said it would look better on my boat ;D, who can argue with that.

2ndchance; The final outcome looks good.
Not to be a wet blanket or anything. It's just hard to tell from those pics. You gonna have enough setback to tilt your motor all the way up? I'm sure you guys thought about it in the planning stages. Again, it's difficult to tell from those pics.

Chumbucket, the motor that is going on the bracket is the same motor that was on it when it was on my Renkin so there will be no issues with tilting the motor. For those who are curious the motor is a 115 Johnson Fast Strike (1995), and the bracket is a Stainless Marine with an 18" set back.

Ive got a ton of prep work to do first, install the Battery, some rewiring, reinstall the fuel tank, install the oil tank, a new fuel filter, repair the fuel tank hatch, install new deck larger drains, hook up the scuppers to the deck drainsETC, ETC, ETC, I hope to be able to take a little time off next week and get it ready for the motor in a week or two. Man I'm already tired just reading the list. ;)

2ndChance,

She looks really nice. Thanks for posting the pics.

Hey, I would echo CB's question; are you sure 18" is enough setback to tilt the motor up to a reasonable position? Did your other boat have a similar transom angle and was the bracket positioned similar to the position on the V?

I suppose the only way to know for sure is to hang the motor and try it out. So, get to work man ;D

The measurement from the keel to the top of the bracket is 26.5" (perfect) and the exact same motor is being put on the bracket that was on it before and it always worked before.

2ndChance,

The position looks right to me, I wasn't questioning that (perhaps you were answering Hammer). I was only curious as to whether you had the same amount of transom above the bracket on both boats and whether or not both boats have a similar (or close) degree transom.

The work looks excellent. Did he gelcoat everything back there as well? Nice.

I understand Pastor, I'm just trying to answer everyones questions. Actually the bracket fits the V20 better than the Renkin. That is a paint on the transom which is fine with me since the boat will be kept on the trailer. I must say he did a great job on matching the color. Does anyone out there know what shade of white Wellcraft put on the 80 V's. I may want to repaint the interior later.

2ndChance,

We all look forward to seeing her completed. Keep up the good work. Not long from now you'll have her in the water.

Also, please feel free to call me Steve or BGA, and if you prefer pastor that's okay with me too.
