Has anyone here have a pilot house built on their V ? I'm toying with the idea of making a removable pilot house for my V. I think that would be great for striper fishing in the fall . Just a place to warm up and still fish when it gets nasty on the bay. I've seen the Bimini enclosures and they are nice but I think a ridged / removable enclosure is better. If anyone has one could you please post a pick for me . I'd like to get some ideas on how I would mount it.
Thanks
Dennis

never seen it but if it was light enough it would be sweet. The V20 cuddy's are a little bow heavy stock so it would have to be pretty light.

There was one posted in E-Bay that I posted once. It was made of wood. Needed alot of work as well. I think a V would look great with a pilothouse on it. ;D

I agree with you there. I'm thinking of using aluminum for the frame work with 1/4" Star board and Plexiglas. Probably 100 - 150 lbs I'm guessing which wouldn't even be noticed .

Please make 2 - one for me *;D
BR,
If we put a pilot house on our V's they would weigh 300 pounds because of the A/C unit we would have to put on it because of the heat.

Thanks guys.
Actually, I don't use photoshop,
I use a free program called Photoplus from Serif.
It is a little confusing until you get a hang of the commands,
but it just takes a little playing with.
Here is a link to the free download page:

I called about the smallest one they sell...the Harp o o n for my 18 center console.
It was 3700 with NO grab rail or rod holders...add 600 more for that. :o

I think Hammer's project V should be the site's guinea pig on this mod. I think it could be done glass over wood or even starboard. Everyone pitches in, Hammer does the labor for free, and when he sells we split the profit! ;D ;D ;D

I've been sketching for the next project. I was thinking you could save weight and money if you built a pilot house by stitch and glue. That's my plan anyhow. As well as making a bit more room in the cuddy area and changing the slider to a hatch with hinges. I think a pilothouse is a good idea.
