RaP - while we're waiting, would you happen to have any performance specs to share? Have you got that Honda properly propped yet?

SK...Honda motor's great, but can't come down on just the right prop...best performance came from a 17p x 15 1/4"dia Mercury Mirage: 1000rpm/5mph(GPS), 2000/8.1, 3000/12.3, 4000/25.4, 5000/33.7, topped out at 5800/38.1mph...problem is that prop caused clutch-dog rattle at idle-speed and sloppy gear engagement...currently runnin' a Honda prop: 1000/4.9, 2000/7.9, 3000/12.0, 4000/22.0, 5000/33.0, tops out at 6000/40.0...go figure...less in mid-range, but a little more top end...since I don't cruise at WOT, I'm still lookin'...Honda Tech is workin' w/me on this(he's been ridin' w/me once and is bringin more props to try...the 150 being a newbie this year, he's lookin' to get some numbers down...what I'm holdin' out for is the Mirage performance w/out the rattle/slop...once we wade thru proppin' this pup, I anticipate pure pleasure 8)...all outboards should run this SWEET ;D...

Must be a Christmas thing.

Thanks for the info on performance. It seems that props were not designed for 4stroke outboards. Prop manufacturers still have lots of work to do.

SK...think you are right re props and 4-strokes...there is ancient witchcraft in props and it hasn't been dailed in for the "new technology" ;D...Honda tech is bringing a couple of new screws...if either will do what the Mirage did, I'll be a happy SOB :o
