View Full Version : Saturday bream then inshore report....

Man what a beautiful day!! My buddy James and I started out at Dead lake trying to get on some bream action. We quickly realized that this was not the ticket for the day. We could not buy a bite!! James caught one nice keeper and that was it! We then reevaluated and decided to head back to Mobile, trade in our dingy for a more capable vessel and go to Dauphin Island.

We made our way to the Island and pulled the net for some bait. We caught some nice bait sized croakers and some good quality shrimp. Here are a few of the better quality shrimp:

The action was really slow. I managed to get ahold of a nice sheepie on my Billystix which was a lot of fun. Thanks Billy, I love my rod!!! 8)

We struggled along as I caught two nice slot reds and that was it for the day. They were 24” and 241/2”.

All in all it was a beautiful day and I had a great time hangin out with James. 8)

Sooooooo.......................I'm assuming you wear those for James' enjoyment. 'Cus if you were like me, you'd wear them inside. ::) :o ;D Mj just wears them and nothing else. :oTalk about money shots! :P

Stinkarama!!!...Buddy you just havin' TOO much fun livin' LARGE down there...some on this board may even be JEALOUS!!... ::)...

Only thing I don't like about thongs is not enough ''skid-mark'' space... ::)...

If I had to guess, I'd say there was a naked bow laying just to one side of tha Stinkster ;D

Also, notice that there is no pic of James...wonder what HE'S wearing?? ???

MJ there is a running joke in my local fishin club and on our internet board about me wearing women's underwear. That is why they were on the boat and on me for that matter. LOL


Also, James was reluctant to even take the pics and was very adiment sp? about me gettin em off before someone seen us. ;D


No pics of him cause he never catches nothin!! ::)

i got news for you... if i could catch shrimp like that around here, i would gladly dedicate half my fishing time to catching dinner. man those look good. i assume they are edible ?!?!

Yeah , they are edible. Sometimes when I put a hook through em I shed a little tear or two. *::)


I can usually catch 3 or 4 dozen in a 10 minute drag and I only have a 6' net. They arent as thick right now due to the high salinity of the water. Alot of em are up river right now.

Oh, I should have mentioned that I caught the reds on croakers. I caught DOZENS of live croakers with just a few shrimp. Sorry, didnt mean to mislead. ;D
