Hi guys...just found this site and have learned a lot from reading the posts. When I was boat shopping five years ago I was looking for a V-20 but never found anything decent in my price range, but did find a nice '83 Fisherman 18 that I bought. I have two questions that maybe somebody can help me with. When I first got the boat it had nasty stale gas in the tank and I'm pretty sure I siphoned most of it out. When I refilled it took about 30 gallons. Does anyone know exact capacity? The gauge is highly innacurate and I always top off the tank after each use, but if I knew exact capacity I can get a good handle on how much range I have. My other question concerns gelcoat color. My hull is a sort of off white, and the listing on Minicraft's website doesn't go back as far as 1983. Does anyone know if the newer boats had the same gelcoat colors as mine and what the name of that color is? Great site....keep up the good work

Welcome No_Slack!! *I really like the 18 fisherman. *I was looking for one of these when I found my v20 Steplift. *I'm not entirely positive about the size of the tank on the 1983 18 fisherman, but the 1985 18ft fisherman has a 43 gallon tank.

and the late 80's and early 90's have a 52 gallon tank.

I also believe that the gelcoat color you are looking for is glacier grey although you might want to try to confirm this with wellcraft.

Thanks for the quick replies. Is Glacier Grey actually an off white color? Does someone have an email address at Wellcraft that I could communicate with to confirm color? And just for the record.....I served in the Army National Guard.....and we liked girls. Most of you guys seem to be from Massachusetts, and way back when, so was I. When I was in the Guard they called us Space Age Minutemen...HA!

No Slack - Glacier Grey is the off white color of the hull of the steplift from 1987 until 1993 or 1994. * According to Mini-Craft glacier grey wasn't around until 1987, but it may not be far off from the color of your hull.
Try contacting mini-craft or wellcraft directly to verify. *I bought a quart from Mini-Craft and patched a few spots on my boat, so I know that glacier grey was the correct color for my 88 steplift. *
