Happy New Trailer. I have a Question for the group. I spent most of Sat. afternoon trying to replace rollers on my Load Rite. The clips are almost impossible to grab with water pump pliers. The recess on the roller wont allow the pliers to open wide enough to get a good grip. I have to replace several clips. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Capt K

Capt K - I don't envy your task . . . having been through this last year. *Those hog rings have a nasty tendency to rust up and snap off inside the aluminum support arms. * *
First - put your boat in the water. *It's much easier to work on the trailer when there's no boat there. *So . . . send someone out fishing in the boat or rent a mooring/slip for the day.
Second - Grab the hog ring with locking pliers and twist. *
One of two things will happen
it'll snap off inside the top hole or it'll come off.
If it snaps off then you'll need to remove the aluminum arm, find a drill press/cutting oil and drill from the bottom hole until the rusty end of the hog ring pops out. *This procedure takes about 15 seconds with a drill press and 15 minutes with a power drill. *
Good Luck!!! ;)

I think when I get mine this weekend I am going to take them all off and put anti sieze on them before I put in the water!
I have had real good luck with the Anti seize on all kinds of stuff around the boat!! Better do it now before I start using it!

Thanks for the comeback Bigshrimpin, I have a slip in Greenwich Cove and I plan to be in by the weekend. Then I will tackle the trailer. I do trail to the Great Island ramp when I fish the Block, so I will get on it right away. Thanks for the info. This is a great group. Capt K

MJ -- HOW MANY ROLLERS WERE YOU EXPECTING??
My 5starr has 32 and the equivalent loadrite had 28.
I assume you ordered it without the winchstand or winch.
I don't want to make matters worse, but that is what I see. Maybe you want to post a close up of your roller brackets. It seems like that bum may be cutting some corners on your original deal.

I will get a pic up tomorrow. I have 24 rollers and I do have the winch and post and it is installed now. I had to do it my self.
But I tryed to call the guy today and they were closed by the time I called. I will have to call back on monday! The problem is that the sticker on the side says that it has 14" tires and it does not!! It has 13" They are rated for 1300 # X 4 + 5200 #
But the sticker says 14 ??? I guess they will be ok but I want to check!

MJ, THAT SON OF A ***** IS CHEATIN YOU. >:(
I HAVE ST205/75D14B TIRES, AND SO SHOULD YOU, I believe -- cause when I compared 5starr and LOADRITE THEY HAD THE SAME TIRES. I wanted 14C BUT THAT ONLY CAME WITH THE 4700 CAPACITY TRAILER.
I'M SO PISSED --I CAN'T EVEB TYPE >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
GO TO LOADRITE'S SITE AND SEE THEIR SPECS FOR YOUR TRAILER.
ALSO, IF YOU DO A SEARCH ON THE HULLTRUTH FOR LOADRITE -- THERE IS A GUY WHO POSTED ABOUT HOW HE LIVES IN PA NEAR WHERE THEY MAKE EM AND HE WENT THERE AND MET THE PRES AND HE WAS A REALLY GREAT GUY AND HE WENT WAY OUT OF HIS WAY TO FIX SOME SMALL PROBLEMS AND DID A BUNCH EXTRA TO SET THINGS RITE (RIGHT -- GET IT). ANYWAY YOU SHOULD CHECK THAT POST OUT AND SEND THAT GUY AN E-MAIL OR FIND SOME OYHER WAY TO LET THE PRES OF LOADRITE KNOW WHAT A SLEAZY SON OF A ***** YOUR SO-CALLED AUTHORIZED LOADRITE DEALER IS. I BET THE PRES WOULD BE JUST AS PISSED AS YOU ARE AND WOULD WANT TO MAKE THINGS RITE BY YOU.

Location: Lancaster, PA USA Have had three LoadRite trailers and prefer them. Did have several annoying problems with my new trailer that were not all the manufacturer's fault. I fixed them myself, but decided to call the President of LoadRite, Bob Roseman, and alert him to these problems. He showed concern and wanted all the details, so he could track down where and why the problems occurred.
At the end of our conversation, I mentioned that I wanted to shorten the tongue 2' for better maneuverablilty. Asked him some specifics as to how to best deal with the wiring and brake lines. He did explain several ways of doing it. Then he offered to have the "adjustment" made at his plant in Fairless Hills, PA at no cost. This sounded good to me.
Bob asked me to take a series of digital pics of the boat on the trailer, so he could consult with his engineers and make sure that shortening the tongue would not cause me any problems.
I took the trailer sans boat to the LoadRite plant this morning. President Roseman introduced me to the head of manufacturing, Hugh Berry, and one of the engineers. The trailer was picked up and placed in one of their bays. I reviewed the pics with the two men and they decided that they would replace the tongue with a new one 24" shorter.
While there I mentioned that it seemed that two brake seals were seeping more than the normal amount of grease. They replaced all four seals. They also noticed from the pics that my boat could be lowered 1.5 inches and still have clearance on the fenders. That was done also. Without me asking they removed the remains of the LoadRite decals that I had blown off during a 14 degree temp day at the car wash and replaced them with new ones.
When my boat was originally put on the trailer, the two rear bunks were smashed and the carpet torn. Even though LoadRite had nothing to do with this problem, they offered to put four new bunks on my trailer.
My buddy and I got a tour of the manufacturing facility and were given two sharp LoadRite caps. President Roseman and Hugh Berry were extremely cordial and could not have done more in the area of customer service. I feel my trailer is 100% at this point. It is good when products are totally correct from the start, but that is not always the case. The next best thing is having a company that goes the extra mile to make things right. LoadRite could not have done more.

Well I called the dealer and he doesn't want to do anything!! Says I got what I ordered!! I said no I did not! And that he wanted me to take a bunk trailer.
I called Load rite and talked to a coustmer rep and we went onver all the numbers and the title says it is a 5 star trailer ?? And the modle number for the load rite number they put in does not exsit??
So I was told then that they are not a deler for loadrite?? So the title says the dealer is Northeast Marine and that I should call there.
I called there and they said yes I should have 14" tires and for me to fax the stuff to them.
I did and then I called him back and he was on the phone (with Alantic Marine I am sure!!) When he came back to the phone he said that they sent what was prdered and that they made the mistake on the tire size and that it is to have 13" tires ??? BOY THEY STICK TOGHTER!!!
So I said I ordered a trailer that was a rolloer trailer with 14" tires and they try to shove a bunk down mt throat, Then they get the right trailer with the wrong tires, and the trailer says 14" title says 14" but I have 13" and that is what it supose to be??
I just called Load Rote again and asked for the same guy I was talking to and will see were this is going to go?
Always me :o

Pics of documents (title, receipt, deposit order), stickers, decals and roller brackets would help, if you want to.
