I was out Fri. afternoon and was by passed a Full transom V20 fish with a bracket and twin 150 Mariners . I saw it for just a moment , but it looked like it was handling the weight and power *well. There was a Kingfish tournment in town this weekend and I think that they were here for it. If I see him again , I will tell him about the site and ask him to post a picture .

No kidding.
I live in Wilmington also and would love to get a glimps of that boat. I bet it will fly. I've been thinking we should put together a V-20 rendevou sometime for all the V-20 owners locally. I see them everywhere and it I think it would be fun to climb around other V-20's and see how they have been customized through the years.

That sounds like a good idea . I know a couple of people with them . I had not seen the twin 150 boat before . I bet it will run in the mid 60's.

There is a guy here in savannah with a full transom cuddy that has a 300 GT johnson on a full floatation bracket. It does a good 70. My old V-20 with a 225 merc and 24pitch four blade chopper would do a solid 60. Having grown up with an offshore boat racer as a father, I like to go FAST, but then again who doesnt?

If I had twin 150's on my v21, I would sell one and use the money to buy some gas. ;)

LeeRoy and Labii,

I keep the boat up in Sneads Ferry and saw a nice older model V-20 cuddy this past weekend. That makes 3 (incl mine) that I have knowledge of around the Bogue/New River area.
I'd definitely be in on a rendevous!

Wow, nice topic! I would love to try and put twins on my boat. My hull is getting tired and would love to go fast again. I'm only getting her up to 47 mph with a '99 200 Yamaha, I think alot of the problem is the prop.

She could touch 60 mph when I bought her brand new in '89 with a 225 Yamaha (cheater motor), I miss those days.

Great idea to get some boats together, count me in. I go to a ton of Donzi outings with a friend and you get alot of new ideas and usually a really good buzz by the end of the day.
