What mileage are you guys getting with your 5.4 Triton? I have a chance to get a rediculously cheap 98 Expedition w/5.4L and 56000 on the clock!

..Big Irish...mine's a 2001 2wd crew Lariat(5.4)...this blew my mind...without A/C, cruising 70 on Interstate...20 MPG!...with A/C 17MPG...towing V-20(which it does GREAT) 11MPG...a buddy has a 2004, says not getting as good milage as his 2001, but still OK...my previous truck was '95 1500 Chev...good truck, but not near the tow truck this one is ;D...

Well I have not taken it on a real Highway run yet. I drive around town then its 20 miles Highway to work so its a mix.
But towing the V20 I got the same as you 11mpg

Thanks guys, I went ahead and bought it! 98 Expedition Eddie Bauer w/5.4 Triton.

Now I feel like I have a whole group of V-20 experts including a handful of Ford truck guys to ping when trouble rears it's head!

No tow package on it unfortunately, but I only move her 2 miles down the road to the marina and back these days. My buddy has a 2500 for any kind of hauling. This is my first Ford as I've been a GM man my whole life. My Dad has always had Ford trucks, though. The Ford paint is awesome! Man, some of the scratches and nicks I buffed out of the paint- all without any swirl marks!! I'll post a pic for fun.

as you can see from the first page i was a Chevy man for many many years and I am hoping I made the right move to Ford??
I just did not like the things I was seeing in the chevy's when I was looking at them.
They were leaking all over the place!! I don't think I saw one that was not leaking around the CV Joint seal!!
Thats a $125 each side repair. Then I saw pleanty with rear end leaks,.
I just like a leak free truck!! My Blazer in that pic, that I still have has 175,000 miles and there is not one leak any where!

Well i wish us both luck with are new Fords!

2 miles to the marina 8)...you're lucky as a dog with two of 'em to lick!...you don't need a tow vehicle...a good golf cart w/a hitch and you're there :o...
