High Rock Lake is not far from my house here in NC - well actually, my wife and I have owned an old single wide trailer on High Rock for around 5 years now, but we don't live there - that's another story... ::)
...anyway what made me post this is the fact that a striper tournament was held on HR last weekend. I honestly haven't heard of a linesider being pulled from HR since the drought of 2002 when the lake level dropped over 23ft and killed about every living thing in it! So, I was happily surprised to see some fish getting pulled out.
Over the years HR has been home to large stripers. I have a friend that used to pull some 20+ all the way up to close to 50 + lbs out of there fairly regularly. Nowadays, they are few and far between.
Anyway, here's a link to the tournament results with fish pictures of the top 3 places:

Nope Willy, but it is pretty! I like the fact that it is close to the coast too! That's a big plus.

I keep trying to find internet info on the Lake and keep getting nothing but expensive golf course type homes, going to try and find a better real estate site for it. Maybe even something with commercial interests on the water like a small marina or cabins and docks type of thing

Yeah, I think I put about 2 hours in this morning *;D *
Here's another for you that covers the coast around the nd SC border on down to below Myrtle Beach.
http://www.dreambeachhomes.net/home_search_frame.shtml
How it works is, you zoom in or out with the little compas thing on the map at the bottom. *Once you find the area you like, click and hold with the mouse to select a square. *Whatever listings are within that square will be displayed. *
P.S. I like to exclude "Manufactured Without Land". *Those are leased lot mobile homes - of which I have no interest. * I'd rather own the land.
You should be able to find you a place at the coast now!
