It'll never hold up. That record is too special to be broken with on a released fish. Even if it were true, half the people in the world will never believe it.

What a F****** dumb@ss! He released a multi-million dollar fish. I'd like to punch him in the nads like that guy on the e-tech commercial ::) :o

Serves him right. Idiot. I'm still mad >:(

Yeah, but what if he catches him again in a year or two? ;D

i think it shows a lot of integrity to release a fish like that. good for him. dont know if i would have let her go though.

From what the guy is saying when asked, I think he'd release it again, given the chance...

Just goes to show how DUMB people can actually be.

BR, I love ya man, but think of what you are saying. If he had kept it the first time he may have killed a world record. If he hadnt released it this time he might have killed yet a future world record...get it?

With all his documentation I and his rep. I think he will get credit. There is also no need to kill an animal like that with the invention of replicas. They are just as affordable as the real thing nowadays. 8)

Who would like to put some money on this? I will bet $20 smackers to ANYBODY on this board that this will not be confirmed a new world record bass - EVER!

I love you too Stink [blush], but I personally would never pay anybody 1 - 2 million plus dollars so that 1 stupid fish could live. That's basically what this guy did. Also, not sure it was in this article, but I read another that said the guy tied the fish off to the dock for a while before the release. That had to be good for the fishes health (NOT).

Now, if he released it due to foul hooking and knew that was against the rules, I give him props for that. But we know that's not the case cause he still wants his record.

All I have to say is that was a lucky bass - lucky I didn't catch him!

P.S. Do you know what happened to the world record fish? The guy took it home and ate it :) Hows that for a "release" into the grease!?!

Actually, he didn't submit it for the record.

Looks like he's changed his tune. His life has been hell since Monday I imagine.
