Since there's a big old bow-thruster on the middle...

had to use dual bow lights, but w/ lip around bow, they had to be raised...Starboard to the rescue...

Now it's just the right height...cut it, route it, screw it on and forget about it... ;D...

Thats a good Idea!!
We were talking about that yesterday also!! Because the newer V20's don't have that ridge like are old ones do.
So it makes mouting the lights hard. Overtons sells a removable Bi-Colored light for $25 it plugs in just like the rear lights do in to a socket.
I was thinking about that, so it is never in the way?? But I like your Idea also??
What to do?? *::)
Hey Reel, whats your bow rail look like?? I am thinking of splitting mine but now i don't no??
Is yours factory or you had it done ??

MJ...here's a shot of the bow...basicly just removed the center section of the factory rail(the piece I sent you came from cutout)...left 1/4" or so past support, went to hardware store and found "inside" tubing plugs... ;D...

This bow-light setup has worked out great...just flip the switch...nothing to store or install when needed...I like the permanent mount and the 3/4" Starboard gets the fixture at just the right height.... :)...
Are you thinkin' of splittin' the bow rail for easier anchor rope access?...W/ your new pulpit roller, seems you won't even have to get on the bow-deck to hoist the rope...rope oughtta work under rail...but I'm not there; you are... ;D...

Thanks for the pic!!
I never did get that piece of rail ??
Maybe they thought it was a pipe bomb??
Cb and I were talking about splitting and not splitting? I was thinking that it would be easier for the anchor and the other reason is That I drive my boat on the trailer and I wanted to be able to get over the front easier when I did.
But now that will still be a pain with the anchor there?
I am so confused? I might just let it go for this season or part of it and see how things work out, before I make the decision.

Yeah, I have to go over my bow, too..it's a pain...I can imagine w/a bow rail...I'd cut it just for that reason...
Blows my mind you didn't get the rail piece...I put it in the mail the day I told you...I can whack another piece and try again if you need it...let me know...matter of fact, that pi$$es me off it didn't get there...heck, you're right...the FBI might be examining it along w/ several thousand others...USPS reliability :P...
MJ, if you cut that rail, a pipe cutter will give you a much cleaner cut than a hack-saw...I got one at hrdwre store for $10... ;D...

Don't worry about it!! I am not sure what I am going to do at this point??
I have a couple of pipe cutters already so I will be fine there.
Everyone look out for reel!! he is the new unibomber!!

Tell me this....just what good is a bow rail on this boat anyway? Ever kept you from fallin in? It can't be for looks - if it were for looks you'd see em on a Hatteras sportfisher. Speakin of which, I think my V20 looks more like a Hatteras without the bow rail :P
P.S.
I'm trashing bow rails now cause my bow rail hardware turned into salt dust so I just took it off and patched up the holes....it beat the heck out of buying new stainless hardware and puttin it back!
Having said all that, I really do want to know what useful purpose they serve?? ???

I just removed my bow rail. My boat's an '83 w/out a toe rail. In fine MJ fashion, I'll be fabricating one out of...
you guessed it....
Starboard!

I sleep on the front of my V20. I assume the rail has served me quite well. ;)
