With regards to the thread I started last week "Thinking about buying a '71 V20, looking for tips" .... I bought it Saturday! It's going to be quite some time before it sees water again (except for when it rains) but it's in my driving waiting for work to start! So the flood of questions will start soon! :) Just so you all know the appoarch I'm taking, I decided to treat this as a full restore as apposed to just trying to figure out the bare minimum to get it in the water. I'm planning on starting inside the boat (floor, transom, preping for live well, raw water wash down, etc.), then the outside of the hull (sanding, fixing any cracks or defects, etc) and once the hull is done repowering the boat. I'll start another thead soon, once I figure out what I want to accomplish with the inside of the boat. In the meantime I'll keep looking at the pics in the galley and the threads for inspiration!

I was born in '72, so I guess I need to respect my elders (referring to boat.......oh yeah, I guess that applies to people too! ;D) Thanks for the encouragement! I already have a few pics to post, just haven't transferred them from the camera yet.

Welcome in, Jeff...sounds like you gonna do her right...couple of tips :

If you rebuild the transom, put it back as a 25"...

If you take my gas tank route, make fiberglass boxes...

Remove all teak, replace w/ Starboard...

Will think of more when senior moment passes...when my '74 was laid up, I was bullet-proof, invisible and 22!...you young whipper-snappers...why I oughta...oughta...forgot what I oughta... ;)..

No teak on this boat. Of coarse there isn't much on this boat at all. I still have to buy a couple of oars to make it a one manpower inboard! :D
