Nice day but no chicken only feathers. Lost a lot of rigs due to snags , caught and released a couple of big football shaped albies ( too bad they taste like mud hens) but the big loud sportfishing guys ran the bonito down one too many times and they never came back up. Ran over to the Sea Buoy and trolled for an hour or so then over to the Cape but no hits on anything but lots of birds working what I guess were more albies . Caught 3 small trout at the jetty on berkleys gulp shrimp baits but no keepers. Lost a nice 4 lb or so black drum drifting a berkleys cigar minnow on a small orange jig head through the Beaufort inlet and had something big on but it broke off, probably a big albie or small bull shark. I have to say that all the Berkleys salt water gulp baits are amazing. All I use my livewells for these days is beer. Frank

Berkley gulps are the ticket . We have used the crabs while bottom fishing and the grouper love them......

I used to go to Beaufort a lot when I was a kid, and by the sounds of it I need to go back. I remember a lot of back bay fishing and dragging nets on the sand bars....really a nice place down there. My family almost bought a house that was on the intercoastal waterway but instead decided to stay in jersey. By chance do you know if El's drive-in is still open? Man they had good burgers!
