My boat is down at the shore with a blown motor and I need to know if the motor is 20 or 25 inch shaft. Boat is 88 V-Step 20. Crusher

measure from the top of the transom were the motor sits, to the bottom of the V under the plug. That will be the leanth.

Or measure the motor from the bottom of the bracket were it sits on the transom to the top of the cavatition plate.

Thanks Chumbucket thats what I told the motor people he though it should be 20". I can't call the yard till the morning. Not a good day at work I need a few cold ones and a little chillin. Crusher

Crusher, my bet is 25...is there somebody at the yard you referred to who can measure?...sorry to hear about your motor...is this recent?...what happened?...whacha gonna repower with?...we gotts ta know!... ;D...

Might be something in the archives that spec the transom height on the '88... ;)...
