My neighbor brought me his worn July copy of Salt Water Sportsman this afternoon. As soon as I flipped over to page 100, my heart skipped a beat. I immediately recognised the lines on that bow at the bottom of the page.

See link below.

The web page for the boat is at
http://www.huntyachts.com/yachts_harrier_25.htm

There is also some really awsome information on this site concerning the history of Ray Hunt's deep V design Including a Wellcraft page still under construction). Start by looking here.

That boat's a real beauty!!...a little imagination and some $$ would make that into a 25' Express Fisherman...lose the inboard, add bracket and twin OBs, lose ALL teak, replace w/ Starboard...add aluminum tower and rod holders and GO do some FISHIN'!!!... ;D 8)...

yeah it is too bad that boat is made for wine and cheese. I bet you are supposed to captain that with a sweater tied around your neck. Does anybody know if a hull is made like that designed to accomidate fish blood?

The original sistership to the Harrier 25 is the Surfhunter 25. A true fishing mahine. ;)

CB...do they still make the Surfhunter?...if not , do ya know when they made 'em and how many?...

Hunt Yachts has 2 of 'em:

2004 for $106,000

2003 for $96,000

Let's see...sell the boat, house, truck, van, live on new boat(in dry storage)...yeah, we can swing it...hey wifey...

Check these boats that have the V20 look and ride but they are outboards and longer.

The surf hunter looked like it was laid out to be a cruiser, plus no outboards. Wow, I bet that Jarret Bay rides nice. What a beast!

Hey Trout the JB rides great went out on a friends 34 JB but the Buddy Davis rides better to me. They are just like a v20 ride but less chop feeling in the ocean. Mainly due to weight, length, and width. There is a Guy at Harkers Island NC that builds boats that are 23 and 25 ft versions that looks just like a V20 CC and are 9'6" wide. OuterBanks Boat Works and the Lewis Bros. Boats. both actually build them but The Outerbanks Boys make both outboard and full inboard Jack shaft single Diesels in 23's and 25's.

Those boats all seem sweet. However, too darn big for me. I guess if I ever had to get a bigger boat, I would consider a Dusky. I like the looks of those hulls. However, I am in Louisiana and those boats are in Dania, Fl. :( I am not in the market, but there are times that I would like to go farther out than what the V20 and trim tabs want to go. It is not a safety issue, but a comfort issue. How about the 20 foot Pro Kat single engine catamaran?

Trout, I gotta good friend w/ a 28' Pro Cat...it's GREAT, but a 20'er seems too short for the hieght needed on a cat hull by any boat maker...it just looks top-heavy...IMHO... :)...

yeah RAP, you might be right about that. I guess that is why it is so important to test ride hulls before buying.

I'm on the waitlist for a 32'-46' slip at my marina (i've got at least 10-yrs to wait) and I would LOVE a Surfhunter 33' in there. Hopefully the hulls being built now will depreciate a good bit by then. I'll drink wine and eat cheese off it and leave the fishing to a smaller boat. Around here even my V-20 is a little too big for Striper fishing around the rocks. However, I refuse to wear a sweater around my neck ;D.

Looks like a party to me! You gotta love food with the words "product" and "fortified" in the name.
