I was trying to keep it a secret until I got it back and posted some pictures, but I pulled the trigger on a new 2004 Yamaha 150 carberated model ;D like the one Stripminer went with (except his was a 2005).

I had been looking at them for a while. Now all of a sudden they are scarce. Got it from a dealer in TN with a price tag of $7464.00 no sales tax and the price included shipping to a dealer near me. Will cost about $200 or less to let them install. Its up there now.

The reason I'm blowing the surprise is due to a question I must ask. Strip, I'd like to hear how you handled this situation, but anyone with information please let me hear your thoughts...

Its about the break-in period where you have to run 50:1 premix. At first I thought I'd run off an auxillary 12 gallon tank with premix so I would'nt have to add oil to my built-in 60 gallon tank. Considering the breakin requirement of 10 hours of run-time with premix, I'm now thinking I need to add the oil directly to my main tank and fill it up (60 gallons of premix). Do you think that will be enough or too much premix for 10 hours of breakin time? Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance - can't wait to experience the new motor. I've never had a new motor before on a car or anything - except a push mower I bought once 8)

P.S. Will post some pics of old motor in FS section today. Will wait about a day then post on eBay.

:) ;) :D ;D 8)

When we did my buddys, we added to the permit gas tank. 60 gal should be just about right.

Also you need to fill the oil tank and use that as well!! This will double the amount of oil you use in the first 10 hours to lube everything up good!!

Good Luck

Thanks for the input MJ. That would get old fillin up the 12 gal tank. I agree, 60gal should be pretty close to the 10 break-in.
