Did the accesories (see rod boxes in repair section) and refinished the teak, etc. Now I did the hull on my 82.
Stripped and painted it white and added a new rub rail. Just putting stuff back together. Not done, but had to post. She's starting to amount to something. It's getting fun now.

Thanks,
The rub rail is made by TACO. It is rigid vinly with a flexible vinyl insert. It seems to be the biggest difference maker hour-for-hour so far. The paint, I sprayed straight white.
Here's what the rail looks like.

Stinky,
Got it from Boaters World. The rigid part is three 20 foot lengths at 30 bucks each. The insert was 70 foot continuous at 65 bucks. So $155. If you want the model numbers let me know. Like everything, I fidgeted around a long time looking and deciding and came up with this one. I think it works for the look that I like. Takes two people and maybe an hour and a half!

A new rub-rail will make ALL the difference in the way a boat looks...when I had mine off recently, cleaned it good w/acetone and couple of applications of Armour-All w/a new rope insert...made the old girl look hot-to trot... ;) 8)...

my rubrail is in good shape,it's straight,no gouges and no breaks in it. It is also 18 y.o., so it is sorta dull and by mistake I got a little wax on it a while back. The chaulky white residue won't come off. I did dress it up w/ armorall and it goes away for a week or so, then the chaulkiness reappears. Anybody got any ideas or know of a good product to remedy this pesky residual wax problem. C'mon SKOOL, I know you've got a trick up your sleeve!

Well, Phester, acetone is used to remove wax mold release residue from gelcoat...it'll probably get yours out too...sure cleaned the heck outta mine ;)...

Guess when the time comes, I'll buy a new insert for mine and tada, good as new! I added quite a bit of character on it already :-/ although I do try my very very best to keep it off docks and such.
