Well finally got Old School out for a day of fishing, stripers on eels, drifting. Four keepers and three over 34 inches had to release. Found out a couple of things, boat is great to fish from with that cockpit and full transom. Also had some calm water for a change and ran that boat WOT. It will definetly make max rpm's at 5600. Because motor is to high on the bracket and I was unable to trim it up w/o ventilating the prop in any chop I could not get to that rpm until yesterday, trimed down all the way( the way I had to run in any chop) the motor would max at 5000. Once I was able to trim the motor up and raise that bow a little WOW 5600 @ 38 mph and handled like a dream. I could tell if I was able to trim it any more Like has been said before " sucking ducks " I'm sure it would hit 40 or maybe even a little more. Got to lower that engine this winter. It looks like I got a good one guys and motor runs like a top. I can't even imagine what a 150 hp would do on that boat.

38mph is smoking fast for a 115. 42 is my top end with my 150.
I hear ya on the stripers but, WE WANT PICS!!

good going willy! What size prop do you have? Those are impressive #'s with a 115.

Best I can tell based on what Lord Skools found out from the number it is a 15 x 17 aluminum. I agree the gps was reading a steady 38-39 mph as soon as I was able to lift the bow a little. It really took off and got to 5600 rpm quick, I was impressed. Unexpected for the 1999 115 hp. That was two adults and 3/4 full tank. When I got into enough chop I had to back down cause the prop would ventilate on the uplift. So that is job one this winter. Drop that motor two inches so I can trim up a little more. Right now I can trim up just barely past straight up and down and the bow stays pretty level flat. So the prop is not pushing at an efficient angle to the hull. As soon as I got that bow up a couple of inches it flew and I could tell it had more if I got it a little higher.
