I've wondered this for a while - does anybody know what is inside the transom of the V-21's? Wood or something else? Just a curiosity question, I'm not having transom problems thank goodness!

Thanks,
Blue

I don't know the answer, but my bet would be on wood.

If I might get on the soapboax a little, wood makes a great core material and I'd never stay away from a boat because it was built with wood coring. The catch is, that all the wood must be properly encapsulated in fiberglass and otherwise completely sealed from water, including screw holes, limber holes, etc. That is a function of the build quality of the manufacturer, not the physical properties of the wood itself.

Just my two cents...stepping off my soapbox now. ;)

Don't know what it's made of, but that transom shares the beauty of the breasts of a woman...long as it doesn't ''jiggle'' in a simular fashion, you OK ;) 8)...you a DAWG...

Ok, got the response. Thanks again MJ.

Here tis:

Mr Barnes

There is a wood core in the transom of your V20. These have been well liked and very durable boats - I get many calls with questions on them every week.
These boats have wood cores and wood stringers that can be something to be checked - water if allowed to saturate these wooded piece can cause problems.
