I've heard nothing but great things about Optima's... a bit pricey though. I'm considering going with the Troll Fury setup w/2 D34M's (dual purpose) or should I go with a designated starter and deep cycle? I love the case setup houses both batteries. I found D34M's for $149.99 w/free shipping, found the case on another site for $25, but shipping is $22 for a plastic box??? Still cheaper then Ebay. I want to hook the batteries up through a 4 way switch and an Isolator. With an Isolator there is no need to worry about switching from number "1" to number "2" batteries, turn to "1" when starting engine, then "off" at end of day, never have to worry about draining both batteries or switching to number "2" when anchored/hangin out, always charging both batteries while underway. The only time you would use "both/all" is if motor will not start on #1. Also, you can't fry your alternator by turning the switch off by mistake while engine is running. Without an isolator if you forget to turn swith off at the end of day the stronger battery will drain into the lower battery.

You can get an isolator for around 60 something bucks. Does'nt make sense to have a dual battery setup without one???

that's a nice and tidy set-up TM, when I need to replace my batteries I'd go for that system. Isolator sounds like a nice feature as well
