I wanted to spiffy up the 18 a bit as I have been doing a few things to it so I ran by boaters world in search of some good hull cleaner. I got what the guy in there reccomended (not that he acted like he knew what he was doing) and took it home. The stuff I got is called "On and Off" by MaryKate.

Anyways, the instructions say to brush it on with a paint brush and spray off 60 seconds later with water hose. I was very skeptical to say the least. Well I started trying it on a few rust spots from the deck scupers, bilge outlet, etc.... I was AMAZED to say the least!! This is some fine stuff! I finally discovered a better way of application though. I put it in a spray bottle and sprayed an area down, then ran over it with a soft bristled car brush. This was by far faster and removed more crud. This stuff got rid on waterline stains, rust stains,...EVERYTHING!! It didnt hurt my boot stripe or my ID lettering either. I did the whole boat inside and out and she looks like a new shiny dime! It really put alot of luster back into a 16 year old gelcoat. 8)
CAUTION: THIS STUFF IS ACID!! WEAR LATEX OR NITRILE GLOVES AND DO NOT TRY AND SMELL IT TO SEE IF ITS STRONG ENOUGH! I AM MISSING AN EYEBROW AND ALL NOSTRIL HAIRS FROM DOING SO. ::)
Also: Use in well ventilated area....like outside, do not do in a garage, you will die. :o

Probably, but I would rather keep the marker AND my skin and not find out. *::)

My machine operator at work has some pretty good "Whisker Bisquets" going on in his nostrils. Maybe I'll bring some to work for him to huff. Just after Christmas, I reminded him that the holiday was over and that it was time to remove the ornaments from the trees. :o
The On&Off does work very well. Don't get it on freshly painted ablative bottom paint though. You won't be happy at all. And, do wash your trailer down good immediately after application too. ;)

I did a quick read, so sorry if it was mentioned already. Don't get that chit on your trailer or it'll eat the galvanizing right off. :o Wonder if you have to be careful with aluminum trailers? 8)

I bet it would tarnish aluminum.
I just got done waxing a small section on the side of the boat with "3M Restorer and Wax". All I can say is WOW! :o I done it by hand to see what would happen. Tomorrow I will put the buffer to it. 8)
I dont think i am gonna want to get it dirty. I may just leave it under the shed all year!!! ::)

Good one RAP, but if it did too good a job, there'd be nobody left on either side of the aisle :o *Actually, that'd be okay with me...
Hey, it just occured to me. *Maybe that's why Patrick Kennedy's eyes were so red and why his speech was slurred and why he had a difficult time walking away from his car the other night. *
You see, he was probably using On & Off to clean the deck on the family boat (because we all know how careful the Kennedy's need to be around the water) ;) *Anyway, he must have gotten some in his eyes and inhaled the fumes (accidentally, of course). *Oh, and it just so happened that he didn't finish the job till right about the same time the bars close in DC... *Yeah, that's it; that's the ticket. *Oh, but he didn't even get a ticket, did he? * ::) *Hmmm...
He should have used a little On & Off to remove the scratches on his car *:P *We all know his daddy will use some to wash his record good as new...

I was talkin' about BOTH sides of the aisle...it's plenty deep from wall to wall...the arrogance of power has no party affiliation ;) ...

Confused here. Hate to reapaint the side of my boat the amount of times I painted the bottom. So, are you saying the ON/OFF stuff will wax the side of your boat to a shine, or is that the restorer wax, or do boat ?

Hammer...On/ Off is a CLEANER and apparently contains some acid which will remove any existing wax on your hull...use it to clean first, then apply restorer wax...it WILL look like NEW ;) 8) ...
Don't get none on ya!! :o ...

Rap is on the money Hammer. Begore you paint the side try it first!!! DONT repaint that Gel Coat!! I wish I would have known *(in the past) with the boats I have painted. Some needed painting and there was no hope, but others could have gotten by without it. It honestly went from chalky and dull to lookin like glass!!!
Use this AFTER the hull cleaner:

It will do the transom, interior, everything. I am going to do the slick parts of the interior so blood and slime washes off easier. Slick meaning topside, interior walls, etc....not the textured flooring. ;)

Thanks Brother ! 8)
