I have installed my new Lowrance 3600C and Navionics chip. The unit is working in all aspects except one, it does not give me the correct (as is shown in displays and info on map) colors to differentiate between land and water. The land is white and so is the water unless you zoom out about half way and then the water becomes blue but land stays white. I called Lowrance tech and they told me I need a updated program chip which they sent me. I installed it and it is running but the color is still white and white, very difficult to see. Anyone else have their unit and have the same problem before I call them again on monday. :-/

Wish I had a solution for ya, Bro...but sounds like if after the update, that may be the way it works...as it zooms in/out it calls for more/less detail which includes color...stay on the techs at Lowrance...let 'em know you're unhappy about it (be nice, now...don't go crackin' skulls w/ your nitestick)...see what they'll work out w/ ya on another unit if it gets to that...
I've gotta replace my old LMS 350a and I's thinkin' about goin' into a West or Boater's World and demoing their display units to look for issues like yours...try B4 U buy...not sure I'm goin' back w/ Lowrance and outcome on yours will be a part of that decision, so let us know...wish I had somethin' for ya, Willy... :-/...

Willy I have the Lowrance 337c demo loaded on my computer with no navionics chip, *in the demo mode there is color until I get to the 8nm range then it all turns white. *I just ordered the 339c and will be getting a navionics chip. *I hope you get this answered in case I run into the same situation. *Bill Mc * ;D

the display showed the land in a tan almost off green color and the water in a blue color, according to the techs thats the way it is supposed to be. But mine won't give me that it gives me blue water and white land, then if I zoom in at all it's all white, can't distinguish land from water other than the depth numbers and buoys etc. Very hard to see.
I saw it in operation at Cabelas where I bought it and went on the Nautic Path site and the Lowrance site and they all had that color difference.
They are a pain in the balls to, you wait on the phone for 20 minutes just to get a tech and then you wait while they send you a reported programming fix and it does not correct it.
I did notice that it is not listing the Nautic Path Map on the menu page so I think it is not recognizing the whole program, just parts of it. the rest of it is beautiful and working fine.
Spend 600 bucks and get aggravation, not right, I'm giving them one more chance to correct it and then getting my money back from Cabela's if they don't sort it out.

Willy take your Lowrance unit and chip back to Cabellas and let them set it up in store or outside. They have a good return policy. If they can't fix it, they should make you happy! Bill Mc ;D If not happy at least get your $6 bills back!

I like Mac's suggestion, unless Lowrance comes thru on next try...and B4 you call Tech at Lowrance, get new Playboy mag...have fun while U wait ;)...
If the demos you tried B4 buying showed it different, don't accept anything less... ;)...

Thats my thinking, but I have the gps antennae and all installed nice. They better fix it or there will be a multi site campaign letting everyone know for a long time to come. If you think about that really is one of the main benefits of the internet, keeping others informed

Willy, of course my hope is Low. will be able to resolve your dissatisfaction and you should surely use the antenna installed leverage, but just between "us girls" you're gonna put "SOMEBODY'S" antenna there so impact there should be minimal(Garmin's ant. base should visually cover holes you drilled for Low. ant. )...Low. makes some damm nice stuff, but they're not the only fish in the sea ;) ...

All right I have it sorted out now, not happy about it but the colors for land and water are just barely different when you zoom in on the Nautic Path Charts, the unit and chip are working the way they are supposed to.
Turns out the pics I saw of the screen with the better graphics are not Nautic Path but are Navionics Gold Charts and I have one on order now.
I'll keep the Nautic for when I travel out of the Gold Chart area because it does give you a lot of info for anywhere on the eastern half of the country.
Live and learn, Lowrance displays their machine not with a Lowrance chip (nautic path) but a after market chip ::)
Anyhow I saw the Navionics Gold display on my unit WOW
If any of you guys are looking for a top notch display and info and have the Lowrance 3500C get the Gold Chart and skip the nautic path ;)

And Stinky I have two units, the Lowrance 3500C which has no Fish finder
And the Garmin which has no GPS.
I went that route because I have had the split screens in the past and when you are in the split screen mode both are hard to see well while operating a boat and fondling super models.
Having the two seperate large screens is sweet, easy to see even while moving around and if one goes down for some reason in the future you don't lose both functions.

Willy check out the navionics platinum chip. It also give bottom contours. Bill Mc ;D Of course with the word platinum you have to give up a few more dollars.

Thanks Mac, but what I can see the Gold + gives that to you also w/o the stiffer price. It's the new version of the Gold Charts
