It's going to be 80+deg. here this weekend . The dry stack marina in which *store my boat hass issued some very bad news. All of the cement pavement *around the dry stacks has to be removed and replaced . This was begun about a month ago and it's going to be about another 60 days before the job is set up and complete. I'm still paying out the nose for rent and can't even get my boat off of the shelf . *I may just go down there and climb up on the boat look at my new motor , listen to the radio , and STEW ! *Signed P/O'd in Wrightsville Beach ! !

Oh , the story is even worse . I had my boat at another marina until Jan . I had been there for 5 years and was unhappy . The company running the marina was Marine Max . There main interest is selling Sea Rays to Guido . I would go down there and my boat was not put down , fork lift tied up doing yard work , inwater space tied up with new Sea Rays , and the last straw they took out the fish cleaning table . So it's time for me to move on . Boat slips wet or dry are very hard to come by . You wait years for a slip unless you know someone . I heard about a slip that was going to be open in Jan @ a much better marina . ( no sales just a first class marina ) So I sign a contract for the balance of another persons time that left early . I paid for Jan , Feb , and March with a full year due April 1 . My contract with the other marina was up Feb 1 . So I told them that I was not going to renew and they rented out my old slip . I moved into the new place about the end of Jan . About two week later I get a notice that the new marina has been inspected and all of the 40 year old cement around the dry stacks had failed and would have to be replaced . Aprox 6 week job . I have no where to go I gave up my old slip which is now gone and I could not get my boat out of there if I wanted to . And on top of all that , they are running way behind. >:(

labii, does your contract say anything about your access to your boat?

Yea plus they are going to have to store the boats off the rack obviously when they do the rebuild. Why can't you have them put it on a trailer for you or on blocks in the yard which they will have to do with the other boats anyhow

Doesn't sound like rebuilding the rack-shed...just demo and repour concrete apron around it... ::)...

Labii - That sucks!! You shouldn't have to pay anything if you can use your boat. 8 weeks to replace concrete seems like an awful long time.

I'm told that it needs 4 weeks to cure before they can put all of that weight on it . They did offer my money back on the first three months . If i had taken it then I would have lost the space because they had another pearson just waiting to take it . Boat slips are very hard to come by around here . If I had only stayed where I was I would be putting some time on my new motor this weekend . I guess the grass is not always greener . ???

Ask them to apply what they would pay you back to the 1st part of a new contract...

The f@*^&%$ test on the cement just came back in and it failed again ! ! I'm so PISSED OFF ! ! They are telling us that they are going to open next Saturday . On top of paying all of the rent $ , I have a brand new motor sitting there with the carbs just gumming up . I may just pick up a 12 pack and go down there and sit on the boat and listen to some sad old country songs. :'( >:(

Screw the 12 pack!! With all you've been through you'll need a half gallon of Wild Turykey ;) That should clear your head! Just don't try to put it in gear and drive off in the drystack :o

MJ , they are going to be nice enough to allow me to remain in their marina . What sucks for me , is they have a waiting list 2-3 years long to get in the place . To add insult to injury , they went up on the rent . I wish that I had bought a slip 5 years ago $18K is now $90 . This is fast turning into a rich man's sport . Now that all of that is behind me , I'm ready to enjoy my boat and that June beer with Reelapeeling .

i just read this series of post and i have to say that i applaud you for your cool temper. if it were me, about my third post would have started- "my wife had to bail me out of jail today...". but, if you wann get some payback, i got this old beat up bayliner capris that my wife has been trying to get me to haul off for some time now. i mean this thing is ratty. you can have it. trailer ur rig home and put the bayliner in ur slip, and make the bastards wash it everyday. like, fill it up with fish guts and and stuff first.

Racerx that is most tempting ! The weather here has been nice and I could have been using my boat for over a month now . On the bright side look at the gas $ I saved .

racer, I've been on a boat w/ a windshield made from a kit...it looked GREAT and as sturdy as could be...think it came from Cabelas...If you go that route, I'll be glad to give you all measurements...after your frame is finished, have saftey-glass cut and you be ''stylin'' now ;) 8)

Well as long as your happy, I am with racer, I would have been in jail long ago!
As for payback, clean all your bass at the docks and throw all the carcass in the water at the bottom of the ramp

They did move me from a bottom rack into a top shelf . Now I can drip on others and the amont of grime blowing into my boat should be lower . But , the next time I clean some grouper I'm not going to poke their eyes. This will allow them to float right on top of the water for days . I might feel a little better after that .

At this point Labil you got to let it go, get out go fishing.
As soon as you do that somehow , some way an oppurtunity to ram them up the keester will present itself when you least expect it.
Don't know why it happens that way just know it does, I'm in the buisness of patiently waiting to lower the hammer and that oppurtunity will come Go Fishing ;)
