Decided to take her back out today for a quickie. Need need to work some bugs out of her if I can afford it.
She started off running ruff again, but no stalling. I played with the titlt trim and noticed that sometimes when the engine is titlted up I looses rpms. Then she soured to 6000 rpms and was spinning like I blew a trans on a car. ??? Hmm any ideas ?? Please dont say new motor time, its not in the budget.
But with the motor all the way down she runs A+.
Got her to 42 mph on a dinged up prop. Maybe thats where I hear the vibration from. Well we spent two hours on the water today and had a good time. Need to know for sure she will get me in the ocean and back. Once the dive platform goes on and I find a cheap gps, gotta start diving. A few pics.

Don't trim the motor up so high and the prop wont slip.

Yo Reel,
Lisa and I will be down there on Fathers Day for a week.
You from the area. ??
Gonna try and catch some king fish...I think you call them from the Pawleys fishing pier.
My relatives own a condo on the beach there.

Pipe:, With it raining most of te day, I took a long nap. : )
Woke up and the day was shot to run to the store for the new fuel filter, so I chanced it and made it out and back safe and sound. Hopefully Thursday I can do a bit more work on her.

Mulv. Is that what you think it was doing, ...prop was slipping. ?
Is this a common thing ? or just for newbies like myself : )

When you try and trim her up to high the prop is probably either running in air bubbles created by the hull or the prop may actually be coming out of the water depending on how high you are trimming her up. Listen to the motor and watch your rpm gauge. There is nothing wrong with having your motor trimmed up for the best performance you just want to make sure its operating within the reccommended rpm range and not over revving . You were already able to distinguish the sound it makes when you had her trimmed too high, so listen to the motor and you will learn in time where the sweet spot is for the best performance.

I agree!!

also when you have it up there and going 50 mph if you turn it will come out and rev also, then when stright again will be fine!

Trim up only when you want to go near or WOT for best speed

I think you are all set!!

I trim mine up when cruisin', too...better mileage and steerin' response...trim down for comin' outta the hole, ruff seas and tight turns...trim down in a turn and your prop won't ''blow-out'' like MJ's talkin' about...

If you're cruisin' along and your bow starts bouncin' and won't quit, you're trimmed up too far...touch 'er down a bit and it'll stop ;) ....

Reel,
Yepper, I had her high in the air, bouncing over the 2 foot chop in the ocean. Was surprised how hollow these V-20's sound. I guess all fiberglass boats sound the same.
