Steve Irwin was killed today when a Stingray's barb pierced his heart while filming a documentary on The Great Barrier Reef...ironic how many animals he encountered, only to die by the barb of a Stingray... :-/ ...

That's a shame for sure. I know it's said often, but I think he truley died doing what he loved. I know he got some flak in the last couple years over bringing his baby into the croc pens while feeding them, but the guy had a hell of a life.
RIP Steve.

He went out the manly way doing what he did best and I have to say over the years I probably watched all his shows but clearly it was just a matter of time before come critter got the best of him . Much better to go that way which was instant than laying around for years with tubes sticking out of you *** with no hope of recovery..I feel for his wife and little one as its going to be a rough road ahead for them ...Hopefully he was well off enough so they wont have to worry about it ...Frank

Two of our network affiliate news are sayin' there's video of the incident...not surprising as they were filming a documentary...I'm sure we'll all see it sooner or later, but it'll be hard to watch... :-/ ...
