I have a question I need answered that I didn't see the answer for in the manual. I think I know the answer, but want to be sure.

Its about the flush hose that allows you to hook to a water hose on the newer Yamaha outboards. Can you start the motor with this thing attached to the garden hose or is it only for flushing with the motor turned off? It seems this flush kit/hose or whatever would eliminate the need for muffs?

Thanks,
Blue

Not certain, Blue, and my owner's manual is in the boat bag.

I have only used for flushing with the engine off. Do you need to start the engine with it?

All motors have to have muffs, this is for the water pump!!
If the water pump is left to pump dry it will be just quick!! some say in less the 10 sec!

Like they sez...the pump needs water. The other flusher I use if I come back too late to disturb the neighbors. The I reflush with the ears in the morning.

DO NOT RUN THE MOTOR WHEN FLUSHING A YAMAHA OUTBOARD

I HAVE A NEW 150 4 STROKE OUTBOARD - JUST ATTACH THE HOSE AND FLUSH IT

NEVER EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES RUN THE MOTOR WHEN FLUSHING

Don't worry, I haven't done it, but that's what I thought guys. I have a friend with a 115 4-stroke and he swears its ok to run while flushing.

Hey Oz, doin' better now, I had a virus in my computer and couldn't lose it. Ran every antivirus program Norton had and it still wouldn't go away. Finally had to go back to the restore disc and start from a clean hard drive. Pain in tha a$$.
Hey Oz, where was that post on the livewell you built, I lost track of it
