looks like a rebuilders code, check with your local proshops, maybe someone can decode it, or at least put the prop on the pitch blocks and tell you what the pitch is( probably more accurate than going by whats stamped on it)

ok so the prop is rebuilt not new. i think that it is not the right prop for my engine anyway. i think its two big i went to a little smaller engine when i replaced it and get about 700-800 rpm less than i used to.

Windtalkers were American Indians in WWII that would speak in native tongue
to communicate secret messages.
The enemies could not decifer what they were saying.
There was a movie a few years ago about this subject.

you should call them and see what they say.
But I hope you DON"T have a need for speed!! That thing is going to be a dog!!
I know I had the 165 inline and it was rated 120hp, and I was lucky to do over 30 with a good tail wind.

the engine is SLOW and it makes me very angry >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(. i cant pass sombody i want to because i dont get more than 25 knots WOT G.P.S. and it will never get on plane with more than four people onboard.
also check the thred "will this work" for your answer on the need for speed thing.

the 3.7 liter should be rated at 165, 170, 185, or 190 depending on what year model you have. The 2.5 was rated at 120, the 3.0 was rated at 115( late model, measured at the prop) 130, and 140 depending on what year. The 3.0 LX was rated at 135( late model rated at prop). All these engines are rated to turn between 4400 and 4800 at WOT, light load. If your engine has a heat exchanger, closed cooling system, and if the instake manifold is on the oposite side of the exhaust, you have the 3.7. A lot of people give this engine a bad rep, I have had good luck with them. IF the carb is mounted on the exhaust manifold, its the 2.5 or 3.0, its a good engine but its only going to do so much. What engine do you have?

i looked at your gallery, your engine is a 165 hp, pretty good version of that engine, I'm not a fan of that mercrab on there, but replacing it with a two barrel Rochester takes some modifications. You might start looking for a used 4 barrel set up for that engine, they are hard to find, but it couldn't hurt, it raises the hp to 190, had the same bottoom end and cam, only differrence is the intake, carb, oil cooler. try to get it all as a package so you'll have everything. You may have to replace your throttle cable also, as it comes in at a different angle. Another good thing to do to that engine is to replace the points with an electronic ignition, use the "pertronic" conversion, it uses your existing distributor and is easy to install, its also available thru Sierra. There are several things that can be done to that engine, but remeber, its still a 4 cylinder, it will never run with a 5.7.
First and formost, find out what prop you have! Then go from there.
