I'm guessing that somebody pulled their Merc 470 and rebuilt the transom from the inside on a ....1977 V-20 ::)

hey, its almost finished. i have a neighbor that has a body shop right across the road,he loaned me an auto buffer the other day, ibuffed the whole boat with star bright compound, hey it came out looking good. when i get all the teak trim back on ill take some pics and try to post em .i filled about 25 holes on the outside of the transom and my neighbor color matched the gel with emron paint and went over it with emron clear.it looks new now.the rest of it is original.buffing brought the gel back pretty good, but it dosent shine as good as i expected.what bo you all use on your vees?

I am a hell of one to answer this one!! I have never waxed, buffed or anything to mine in 8 years!!
But there is all kinds of things to use, But I have heard if you really dull you can sand with like 800 or 1000 sand paper to bring the shine back.
ship shape show just showed some stuff, but i forgot what the name was?? glow something, it can make anything shine

I used star bright as well and wasnt that impressed with it ether. Wasnt impressed with the top dollar price that I paid either for it.

CF, the prodedure with the buffer usually goes compound, polish, then wax. I like Starbrights Marine polish w/ Teflon. The reason I like it is that it goes on easy, comes off easy, and helps keep the boat clean. I'm no clean freak, but try to keep it clean enough to fish on.
